So, Nova said he will return to Rutgers on Thursday for another unofficial visit, marking his second trip in less than a week to see the Scarlet Knights practice.
"I had some free time and I wanted to go down and check out one of their practices and the opportunity came up,'' said Nova, who holds five offers. "My coach showed up and he said he was probably going to come back on Thursday, and he said he would bring me."
Nova, who was offered by Rutgers last month, left about an hour before practice ended because of a prior commitment, but he saw enough to formulate an opinion.
"It was a real nice experience, a lot of intensity, a lot of athletes all over the field,'' Nova said. "I just liked the way the coaches …they did a lot of teaching, and I like the way (coach Greg) Schiano was running all around the field.''
One thing recruits talk about when they watch Rutgers practice is the tempo, and the 6-foot-2, 210-pound Nova saw things no differently.
"That's exactly what I noticed,'' he said. "When they were done with one session, they all got together and they sprinted to the next thing. There really wasn't any standing around, and if they were standing around, they were watching what the coaches were doing, and they were teaching them.''
"It's a great school,'' Nova said. "I really don't know much about them, but I know it's a great academic school. The football program has had some success. James Kittredge is going there next year, so I might go down there (for a visit) with him soon. I don't have anything set up yet, though.''
Nova also holds offers from Virginia, but doesn't have a leader.
"I've only seen Rutgers,'' he said. "I haven't seen any other schools (practice). I'm definitely keeping an open mind. I definitely like all of them.''
