"I see other schools getting more involved, but I also have that same love for Rutgers that I had before,'' the 6-foot, 185-pound Davis said. "I want to see what other schools are offering. I want to see what I can get out of other places.''
Rutgers assistant coach Robb Smith was at Neptune High last week, but he wasn't the only assistant coach to stroll through the Jersey Shore school. Davis said assistant coaches from Cincinnati, James Madison, North Carolina and Pittsburgh were recently at Neptune.
"Pitt and I have been talking for a few months now,'' Davis said. "Cincinnati told me that a scholarship is right around the corner.''
Davis held a Rutgers offer since Sept. 1 and received one from Pittsburgh in February. Earlier this week Louisville joined the fray by offering.
"It's a pretty big offer,'' Davis said. "I had two before, and now with that coming in, I think others are going to come in. I've never been there before. I don't know too much about them, but I talked to the recruiting coach, and I'm going to go there this summer.''
Davis has been to Rutgers a number of times, and said in the summer he will also try to visit Pittsburgh and Cincinnati.
"Those are the only ones so far,'' he said. "But other schools may offer, and I will look at them.''
