Will Recent 4-star CB Offeree Consider RU?

ScarletReport.com reported last week South Lake High (Groveland, Fla.) four-star cornerback Nick Waisome received an offer from the Scarlet Knights, and the offer came after he already trimmed his list to seven schools. So, can the Scarlet Knights get involved with Scout.com's 11th-rated safety in the 2011 class? Or is it too late? Go inside to find out what Waisome had to say about it.

South Lake High (Groveland, Fla.) four-star cornerback Nick Waisome trimmed his list to seven schools two weeks ago, but with the caveat things could change as the recruiting process progressed.

Well, since the announcement of the list, Waisome picked up an offer from Rutgers, which sent it earlier this month.

"I'm glad I got an offer so I can learn more about the school,'' the 5-foot-10, 175-pound Waisome said. "I know a little about them. They've got great receivers up there and a lot of guys in the (NFL).''

He is being recruited by Scarlet Knights secondary coach Ed Pinkham, who had tremendous success in central Florida in the 2010 class. But whether Rutgers can seriously enter the mix remains uncertain.

Waisome, who is the nation's No. 11-ranked cornerback by Scout.com, listed Florida, Florida State, Miami, South Carolina, Georgia, LSU and Louisville as his top seven schools.

"That was my top seven,'' Waisome said. "But I put it out that it could change in the next couple of months.''

Waisome is considered one of the top man-ton-man cover players in the nation, and his junior statistics suggest it. He made 67 tackles, intercepted four passes and broke up 18 passes.

Waisome doubled as a receiver, and averaged a staggering 29.1 yards per catch. He made 17 receptions for 495 yards and six touchdowns.

But does Rutgers have a chance with Waisome?

"I have the offer, but I may just move on,'' he said. "I'm not sure yet."
