Now, the Maryland commit wants to see much more of the Scarlet Knights.
"I'm thinking of taking an official up there," Ramsey said. "The way things work makes me want to. I want to see what the game day atmosphere will be like in the stadium, and around the stadium. It is a pretty big stadium."
The 52,500-seat Rutgers Stadium isn't the only thing that impressed the 5-foot-11, 175-pound Ramsey.
Upon his arrival to campus, he and a number of the campers-to-be got a look at the Hale Center and were able to meet with the coaching staff.
"As soon as we got there, most of us Florida boys went on a tour," Ramsey said. "We went with coach Fleck, and then we sat and chilled in the player's lounge with all the video games. It was cool. We got to talk to most of the coaches, and then coach (Greg) Schiano …we talked."
Ramsey got to see the weight training facility, the locker room and player's lounge, Rutgers Stadium and the practice fields, and the football meeting rooms and academic support area.
"Everything is nice. Everything is top notch," he said. "I was surprised. None of us from Florida expected it. If we didn't make that trip, probably none of us would consider Rutgers one of the top schools to look at."
On the field, Ramsey was able to speak with the coaching staff and understand how they coach. He also received some instruction that should help him for his senior season.
"I learned a couple of new techniques at cornerback that the Rutgers coaches taught me," Ramsey said. "It is making sure you're in the correct stance and making sure you finish and how to have more power coming off of a break."
