Five-star DE Williams Gives an Update

Five-star defensive end Ishaq Williams of Lincoln High (Brooklyn, N.Y.) holds offers from coast-to-coast, but is relatively quiet when it comes to the recruiting game. The 6-foot-5, 225-pound Williams recently spoke to ScarletReport.com to update his recruitment, talk about where he plans on visiting this summer and also whether or not he has trimmed his list.

Lincoln High (Brooklyn, N.Y.) defensive end Ishaq Williams plans to make a West Coast swing, a trip to the midwest and one to the deep south this summer.

Oh, and the 6-foot-5, 225-pound, five-star Williams re-iterated what he told ScarletReport.com in May by saying he also has a Rutgers trip on his mind.

"It's still in my plans," he said, "but I haven't set up anything yet."

Williams plans on visiting Rutgers for a variety of reasons, including his relationship with his recruiting coach, offensive line coach Kyle Flood, and because the Scarlet Knights offered him so early in the process.

The rangy and athletic Williams, who can also play tight end, has not started trimming his list of schools, and he won't do so until he makes some unofficial visits.

"I plan to visit a lot of schools and then do something after that," Williams said. "There is nothing set in stone yet. I know I'm going to get to California and see of few of those schools. I know I'm going to get to Notre Dame, and I know I'm going to get to Alabama."

Of the California schools, Williams said he will visit Stanford, UCLA and USC.

However, with many college coaches using July to vacation, Williams is enjoying the quieter time, and also taking advantage of it as he delves further into his recruitment.

"I'm using this time to do more research on schools, to get to know more about them," Williams said.
