Hoop Group End of Summer Classic

On Sunday, Hawk Hill Hardwood ended July in style at Hoop Group's End of Summer Classic. On the final day of the second July live period, significant talent descended on Albright College for the one-day AAU event.

The gyms were packed with college coaches trying to be seen for a last time this summer. It would be impossible to list all the coaches there today, so here is just a sampling. From Saint Joseph's, head coach Phil Martelli was joined by assistants Dave Duda and Geoff Arnold. Drexel head coach Bruiser Flint, La Salle head coach Dr. John Giannini, Xavier head coach Chris Mack, and Temple's Fran Dunphy were also in attendance. Kevin Willard from Seton Hall, John Thompson III from Georgetown, Billy Donovan from Florida, and Jamie Dixon from Pitt were also roaming the gyms.

Hawk Hill Hardwood caught two Baltimore Elite games today, featuring 2012 Saint Joseph's recruiting target Isaiah Miles. Chris Jones, a 2012 guard with the Playaz, also stood out today, as did 2012 Jersey Shore Warriors wing Stephen Smith. Among other players watched today were 2013 PTP teammates Rysheed Jordan and Jeremiah Worthem, along with their 2014 teammate Ben Bentil. 2012 Jordan Reed, 2012 Ronnie Paden, 2013 B.J. Johnson, and 2012 Jamel Artis are among other players that will be discussed here this week.

All in all, Hoop Group's End of Summer Classic brought together quite an assembly of talent for the one-day event. It did a nice job of bringing July to a close.
