Hawks host two 2012 visitors

Over Labor Day weekend, Saint Joseph's hosted two of their top recruiting targets in the class of 2012 on official visits. The Hawks are still looking for their first 2012 commitment. Could one of their weekend visitors be the first to offer up a pledge?

6'11 Findlay Prep (NV) senior center Matt Willms and 6'7 Milford Mill (MD) senior forward Isaiah Miles took official visits to Saint Joseph's over the weekend.

Willms is a lefty center who runs the court very well and also possesses a set of impressive hands. In addition to his presence in the paint, Willms is capable of knocking down shots from the perimeter out to three-point range. Saint Joseph's, San Diego State, Minnesota, Marquette, and Providence are among the schools rumored to be most involved with Willms at this time.

While this was Willms' first trip to Hawk Hill, this was not the first visit for Isaiah Miles. Earlier in the summer, Miles tripped to Saint Joseph's for an unofficial visit. This weekend, he visited campus for an official visit with his parents.

Miles is a Baltimore native who will suit up this season for Milford Mill after spending his first three high school years at Glenelg Country (MD). A 6'7 combo forward, Isaiah's strength is in his jumper. Saint Joseph's is targeting a shooter in the 2012 class, and Miles fits that bill.

Hawk Hill Hardwood spoke with Isaiah's father, Eric Miles, following his visit to Saint Joseph's. "The visit was great," Eric said. "It's by far the best we have felt about a school. The staff made us feel like family. It was a good look."

The Hawks appear to have a shot at both of these talented 2012 targets. Will one of them be the first to commit to the Hawks? Saint Joseph's faces some stiff competition for both Matt Willms and Isaiah Miles, but enjoyable weekend visits for both seem to give the Hawks a legitimate shot.
