Saint Joseph's signed three players to National Letters of Intent in the class of 2012. The first player to verbal to the Hawks, 6'7 Baltimore forward Isaiah Miles, was also one of Saint Joseph's top targets in the class. Miles took an official visit to Saint Joseph's in September, and committed just days after his visit.
Miles will return to Hawk Hill on Saturday to watch the Hawks rumble with the Wildcats, per his father, Eric Miles. Eric Miles said that Isaiah had 12 points, 13 rebounds, and 5 blocks in Milford Mill Academy's season-opening win against Calvert Hall.
While Miles will be the only signed player in attendance on Saturday, the Hawks will also host a number of recruits they are keeping close tabs on. Among them is 2013 Princeton Day School (NJ) junior wing Davon Reed. Reed recently attended Saint Joseph's season opener against Penn State as well as practice in October. On Monday night, Saint Joseph's assistant coach Mark Bass watched Reed score 26 points in a win against Trenton's Emily Fisher Charter. Scout has Reed ranked as a top 100 player in his class.
Another 2013 guard will be back on Saint Joseph's campus on Saturday. Saint Anthony (NJ) guard Hallice Cooke is another of Saint Joseph's top 2013 targets. He plans to attend the Holy War on Saturday as well. Cooke, a 6'3 guard, is a knock-down perimeter shooter being recruited by the Hawks, Seton Hall, VCU, and a number of other schools.
Saint Joseph's will also be hosting a significant member of the 2014 class. Ben Bentil, a 6'8 220-pound big man from St Andrew's (DE) is also planning to attend Saturday night's game. Bentil is arguably one of the top two or three sophomores in the region, and recently turned heads at the Pangos All-East Camp.
At the moment, those are four recruits planning to attend the Holy War this weekend. As more names pop up, they will be added to this article.
