Josh Brown committed to Temple, and head coach Fran Dunphy, back in November. At the time, Brown and high school and AAU teammate Hallice Cooke were rumored to be a package deal. Temple was not involved in Cooke's recruitment at the time, and they are still not now.
Adam Zagoria, of Zagsblog, wrote yesterday that Rutgers, Indiana, Saint Joseph's, Rhode Island, Miami, Gonzaga, Richmond, and Virginia were among the schools to reach out to the talented lead guard.
Saint Joseph's was involved with Brown prior to his commitment to Temple. In fact, Brown and Cooke unofficially visited St. Joe's last June together. Of the schools to have contacted Brown to date, Rhode Island, Richmond, and Saint Joseph's are also heavily involved in the recruitment of Cooke.
Also of note is the fact that Brown and Cooke are coached by the legendary Bob Hurley Sr. at St. Anthony. Hurley's son, Dan Hurley, is the head coach at Rhode Island.
At the moment, Saint Joseph's is actively recruiting a number of the players on the Sports U team. Hallice Cooke, Jared Nickens, and DeAndre Bembry are all 2013 players with offers from the Hawks. With Brown now open in his recruitment once again, look for the Hawks to attempt to actively involve themselves in his recruitment as well.
St. Joe's, Rhode Island, Richmond, and VCU are all schools involved with a number of Sports U players, so the odds are relatively high that you will see a number of them suiting up in the Atlantic 10.
