Hawks notch exhibition win

On Thursday evening, Saint Joseph's played an exhibition game against Wheeling Jesuit (WV) at Hagan Arena. The Hawks had four players score in double digits, en route to a 71-50 victory

The Hawks don't begin the season in earnest until Monday night against Yale, but they got a warm-up tonight at home against Wheeling Jesuit. SJU took care of business, downing Wheeling Jesuit 71-50, paced by 19-point outings from juniors Ronald Roberts and Langston Galloway.

Galloway, a 6'2 junior shooting guard, shot 5-8 from behind the arc on his way to 19 points. While Galloway did his damage from the perimeter, Roberts did his inside, going a perfect 7-7 from the field and 5-7 from the line.

Saint Joseph's also got strong performances from C.J. Aiken (13 points, 7 rebounds) and Chris Wilson (10 points, 7 assists). No other Hawk scored more than three points.

Immediately prior to tonight's game, Saint Joseph's announced that senior point guard Carl Jones would be serving a three-game suspension for a "violation of the University's community standards." Jones missed tonight, and will miss the Yale and Notre Dame games.

Hawk Hill Hardwood will continue our Player Profile series tomorrow, then have a Yale preview article up on Sunday.
