April Live Period Preview

This weekend, the first recruiting live period of the year kicks off with three high-profile tournaments. With college coaches able to hit the road and recruit, the next two weekends are packed with tournaments coast-to-coast. The St. Joe's coaching staff will be busy with tournaments in Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, and Dallas this weekend.

The Hoop Group Pitt Jam Fest is one of the two events this weekend that features the greatest number of St. Joe's recruiting targets. Terrell Myers' We R-1 program will be competing in the Pitt Jam Fest. Their 17u team has juniors Ben Bentil, Kaison Randolph, and Austin Tilghman. Both Bentil and Randolph hold offers while Tilghman is seeing Hawk interest. We R-1's 16u are also competing, and star 2015s Tim Delaney, Malik Ellison, Derrick Jones and more. Both Delaney and Jones are top 2015 targets of the Hawks.

Team Takeover is another team playing in Pittsburgh. 2014 point guard Tre Campbell, one of St. Joe's top 2014 guard targets, should be in Pittsburgh with Team Takeover. Fellow DC target Martin Geben, a skilled forward in the 2014 class, also plays for Team Takeover.

The New Jersey Roadrunners will have both their 17u and 16u teams in Pittsburgh. A new 2015 to many will be running with the 16u Roadrunners this spring. 6'1 Newark East Side (NJ) sophomore Ahmad Harrison is seeing early interest from the St. Joe's coaching staff and will likely be tracked this spring and summer.

The Nike EYBL event in Los Angeles will also feature a number of Hawk recruiting targets. In fact, 2014 combo guard Da'Jon Streeter tweeted earlier today that he expected St. Joe's and Charlotte to be two schools watching him this weekend.

Team Final, based out of the Philadelphia area, is loaded with Hawk targets in the 2014 class. Shep Garner, Nana Foulland, Mikal Bridges, and Muhammad Abdur-Rahkman are all 2014 recruiting targets of the Hawks. Team Final's 16u team also has Hawk targets from the 2015 class, such as Neumann-Goretti sophomore point guard Lamarr Kimble.

Another team with multiple Hawk targets is the 17u NJ Playaz. The Playaz, who will be in PA, have juniors Elijah Cain and Rashard Figures. Both players hold Hawk offers and are likely among the SJU coaching staff's top targets.

This is just a general overview of where many of St. Joe's top recruiting targets will be playing this weekend. The Scout national team will have coverage of the weekend's big events, and Hawk Hill Hardwood will have additional insight into where the Saint Joseph's coaches are and who they are watching. Check back throughout the weekend for updates.
