Waterman has A10 official visit lined up

2014 Fayetteville Academy (NC) forward Zane Waterman has seen his recruitment take off this spring, following a strong April running with Team Loaded. Waterman will take an official visit this week to an Atlantic 10 school.

Zane Waterman, a 6'8 205-pound forward from Fayetteville Academy (NC) and Team Loaded will trek north to Hawk Hill on Thursday for his first official visit. Waterman will remain on campus Thursday and Friday. He is the first 2014 recruit that the Hawks are hosting for an official visit.

Waterman's name is not a new one for Hawk fans. Alex Schwartz interviewed him at the Hoop Group Southern Jam Fest. There, Zane spoke about his recruitment and his game.

At the time, Waterman told Schwartz that he held offers from Southern Miss, Appalachian State, St. Joe's, Charlotte, Winthrop, Manhattan, and others. In addition, NC State, Cincinnati, Wake Forest, and others were "showing interest."

At 6'8, Zane is described by most as a combo forward or a stretch 4. "I can do everything. I can shoot. I can beat you inside. I can rebound. I can play defense. Just shooting-scoring and hustling mostly," Zane told Schwartz.

St. Joe's is involved with a multitude of 2014 recruits. While the Hawk coaching staff has hosted countless unofficial visitors, it is noteworthy that Zane Waterman is their first official visit. While he has not been discussed quite as much as some of their other targets, it's clear that Phil Martelli and company are serious about the North Carolina native. They will have their chance to impress him this week.
