Hawks offer 2014 guard

St. Joe's currently has a strong three-man 2014 recruiting class, with Cardinal Hayes (NY) point guard Shavar Newkirk, Pace Academy (NC) power forward Markell Lodge, and Northside Christian (NC) wing guard James Demery. Phil Martelli and his staff are not finished yet though, and on Sunday evening they extended a new 2014 offer.

T.J. Schlundt, a 6'4 shooting guard from St. John's NW Prep (WI), is the most recent offer from St. Joe's. On Sunday night, NY2LASports was the first to break the news that Schlundt picked up an offer from the Hawks. I confirmed the news this morning.

Schlundt just transferred to St. John's, where he will play on their post-graduate team despite the fact that he is just a high school senior. His father, Terrell Schdlunt, is a former Marquette Golden Eagle.

At the moment, the Hawks have three 2014 commitments. They were actively involved with Glenwood (IL) shooting guard Peyton Allen, but that trail seems to have gone cold. Schlundt's offer tells you how much Phil Martelli wants to add a shooter to this athletically gifted 2014 class.

Over the spring and summer, TJ played with the Wisconsin Swing, and turned in a strong AAU season. T.J. turned in several strong performances at the Under Armour Jam Fest, which took place at the end of July in Wisconsin.

Over the coming days, I will have more information on T.J. Schlundt. As of now, he is the most recent offer for the Hawks, and appears to fit the bill as the coaching staff continues to search for a shooter.
