Monday night round-up

St. Joe's two 2015 commitments are playing locally next weekend. One of their top remaining 2015 targets visited an Atlantic 10 school last weekend and is inching in on a decision. Get all the latest inside.

5'11 Neumann-Goretti (PA) point guard Lamarr Kimble and 6'4 St. Joe's Prep (PA) wing guard Chris Clover will be among the participants in this weekend's Philadelphia-New York City All-City Classic at Ben Franklin High School in Philadelphia. After what's been a slow month on the recruiting front, this is an opportunity for local Hawk fans to get a look at their two committed seniors.

In addition, St. Joe's fans can get an early look at some 2016 recruiting targets on the Philadelphia side. Friends' Central (PA) 6'7 wing DeAndre Hunter picked up a Hawk offer over the summer, as did 6'5 Haverford School (PA) wing guard Lamar Stevens. Other possible names of interest include Life Center Academy (NJ) big man Nysier Brooks and Roman Catholic (PA) guard Nazeer Bostic.

The games begin at 5 pm on Saturday with the 2017 (sophomores) game. That will be followed by the juniors, then seniors. In all likelihood, you're probably looking at roughly a 7 or 7:30 tip for Clover and Kimble. I will be there and have the day's games covered.

Over this past weekend, two 2015 recruits with Hawk offers took visits to VCU. 6'9 Archbishop Carroll (PA) post Ernest Aflakpui is down to VCU, Temple, St. Joe's, and Rhode Island. Ernest visited VCU last weekend, and then will take a visit to URI this coming weekend. He has already trekked to both Temple and St. Joe's. Aflakpui is expected to make his college decision shortly after wrapping up his visits.

The other player with a Hawk offer that visited VCU last weekend was 6'8 St. Anthony (NJ) wing Markis McDuffie. St. Joe's tracked McDuffie hard in July, extending an offer his way during the live period. On Sunday night, however, Markis announced that he was down to VCU, SMU, Boston College, and Wichita State.

Other 2015 names that remain in play for St. Joe's are 6'8 Bergen Catholic (NJ) forward Pierfrancesco Oliva and 6'7 West De Pere (WI) forward Cody Schwartz. The Hawks have two 2015 scholarships to play with still.
