Robinson schedules official visits

When Kenwood (IL) senior wing Nick Robinson decommited from Indiana State in early January, he suddenly became one of the hottest recruiting names in the midwest. Over the course of the winter, Robinson garnered attention, and subsequent offers, from a number of schools coast to coast. Now, he has planned two official visits. Get the full scoop inside.

Nick Robinson committed to Indiana State in the fall, a decision that he admitted that he rushed into. When Hawk Hill Hardwood spoke with Robinson, a 6'6 200-pound win, in early March, he explained that Indiana State commitment, and decommitment. "Earlier in the year both my brother and my father passed, so I sort of rushed into a decision. I just wanted to get it over with, so I committed. I hadn't taken any official visits anywhere, not even Indiana State. Just an unofficial there. So my mom and I talked, and I thought I'd give myself a chance to see schools and talk to new schools and coaches," Robinson explained.

In the months following his decommitment, Robinson picked up a number of new offers. Scholarship offers came pouring in from Saint Joseph's, Saint Louis, Valparaiso, Southern Illinois, DePaul, and Cal, along with interest from Wisconsin and others.

Robinson has now reached the point in his recruitment where he is ready to plan his visits On Wednesday, he told Hawk Hill Hardwood that he will be taking two official visits, to Saint Joseph's and to Cal. The Saint Joseph's visit will come first, March 28th-30th. The Cal visit will be the following week, from April 7th-10th.

At the moment, those two visits, to an Atlantic 10 school and a Pac 12 school, are the only two visits he has planned.

St. Joe's is actively in the market for a guard in the 2016 class. Nick Robinson, a wing guard with size and plus athleticism, would seemingly fit the bill. Stay tuned to Hawk Hill Hardwood for the latest on Robinson's recruitment.
