Game 2: SLU-Santa Clara Preview's Ben Weixlmann breaks down SLU's second game against Santa Clara. What came through on the video?

SLU vs. Santa Clara

Time: 7:00 p.m. CT

Location: Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Mo.

TV: Fox Sports Midwest

Players To Watch:

Dwayne Evans. He showed his ability to get to the basket and score on Friday night against USC Upstate. With star guard Kwamain Mitchell out, SLU will turn to Evans as a go-to scorer.

Jordair Jett. Another game, another tough defensive assignment. Jett has proved that he's a lockdown defender. Torrey Craig was a difficult task for Game 1, and now he draws 6-foot-2 Kevin Foster. Foster dropped 27 points in the Broncos' opener and is capable of draining three-pointers at will. That will be a matchup I'm watching all night long.

Keys To The Game

Get ahead early. Santa Clara is by no means a walkover, but it's a game the Billikens should win. With that said, if SLU can come out and jump on top of SCU in the early going, they will save their legs for the CBE Classic which begins next week.

Establish A Post Presence. From the tape I watched, SLU has the ability to do well down in the blocks against the Broncos. This is a different team from last year (that had several suspended players and went 0-16 in conference play), but the size is still lacking. Look for John Manning to get some decent minutes, in addition to Rob Loe.

Take Away Foster and Roquemore. We touched on Foster earlier, but Evan Roquemore has the talent to score in bunches, too. He's had his own issues staying on the court, but if he can find openings, he'll be tough for SLU to keep off the scoresheet.

Prediction: SLU wins by 18.
