After waiting it out to see if any big-time programs would come his way, 2014 Brett Jolly popped for the Saint Louis Billikens on Monday night.
"There was a while there where I was looking to see who else would be interested," he said. "When it came down to it, I decided that SLU was the best place to be for playing time and winning."
Jolly also had offers from Colorado and a list of "BCS" schools tracking his progress, but ultimately head coach Jim Crews put in good work with the 6-foot-10 center.
"He came out to see me a couple of weeks ago and I really appreciated that," he said. "I am looking forward to getting there, especially with family in St. Louis."
Jolly, although unfamiliar with the current state of the Billikens' 2014 recruiting class, thinks he can come in and see the floor early on.
"I'm not going to get affected if I don't start freshman year or anything like that," he said. "But I would like to see myself as a contributor and just help the team any way I can."
He sees himself fitting into the Bills' roster much in the same mold as Rob Loe.
"I think I can help stretch the floor and provide that spark as a big guy like he does," he said. "Obviously those are big shoes to fill, but I hope I can get in there and show my best."
