No. 19 Takes Care of Business, Downs Duquesne

Sophomore guard Austin McBroom hit clutch shots time and time again, and senior backcourt mate Jordair Jett dished out 11 assists and Saint Louis came from behind to win 76-72 at Duquesne. In doing so, SLU remained undefeated on the road, running their record in such situations to 7-0.

It wasn't always pretty, especially on the defensive side of the ball, but the Saint Louis University Billikens did just enough to win on the road at Duquesne, 76-72.

After coming out of the gates gangbusters, SLU's defense was shaky and the Dukes took advantage.

Trailing 72-70 with less than a minute remaining, McBroom knocked down a wide-open triple to put the Billikens on top for good.

With their best player, Dwayne Evans, fouled out of the game, the Bills continued to make runs at the home Dukes and eventually simply had too much towards the end.

A game in which each team couldn't seem to shake the other, the ending was rather fitting. A blocked bucket here, a three there, and yet another blocked shot. It was a game of runs and ultimately the No. 19 SLU Billikens had the last one for the deciding tally.

There were several big plays throughout the game by both teams, but perhaps one of the largest that will go unnoticed was Rob Loe's block with SLU up 65-64 in the waning minutes.

He finished with 10 points, four rebounds, and four assists, but no play was larger than that as it helped preserve the lead.

Jett was outstanding yet again as well, registering a double-double with 10 points and 11 assists.

Mike McCall Jr. put in 13 points and Grandy Glaze scored 12, all in the first half, to pace SLU.

NEXT UP: SLU heads home to face Richmond on Jan. 29. The Billikens will put their 12 game winning streak on the line.
