"They have great guys and a great program," Smith said. "It was a great time."
SLU also has a young squad this season, with eight freshmen on scholarship. Smith spent most of his time on campus with those freshmen, including Femi John and Kwamain Mitchell, and was able to hang out with players only a year removed from going through the same recruiting process Smith is experiencing now.
Smith was impressed with the young Billikens.
"There are no egos on that team," he said.
Smith joined a large group of the freshmen and went to the Lil Wayne concert at the new Chaifetz Arena on campus on Saturday night. The Grove City prospect said the SLU freshmen do everything together.
"That's something nice about that school," he said.
The 6-foot-7, 185-pound forward was clearly impressed with his visit, but will continue trying to narrow down his list of schools to be able to make a decision on his college destination in the next few weeks.
"I love Saint Louis," Smith said, "but I love all the schools in my top six."
He has since dropped Wright State from the list.
Next up for Smith is a possible unofficial visit to Xavier this weekend. After that, Smith said he would make an official visit to Ohio the following weekend.
That would leave him with three official visits to take, if he chooses to take them. Either way, the Ohio native is closing in on his college decision.
"I plan to make the decision on the school of my choice at the end of this month," Smith.
