The Saint Louis University basketball team landed a commitment from Australian guard Christian Salecich this fall. Now, coach Rick Majerus and Co. are also trying to land a power forward from Australia.
is a 6-foot-8 senior forward at the Australian Institute of Sport in Sydney and is currently in the United States with his family visiting schools.
Ellis has already made official visits to Wake Forest and Colorado and will visit Saint Louis University this weekend.
After his trip to SLU, Ellis and his family will head home and then try to sort through his three visits and figure out where he will play his college basketball next season.
"We're going to go back to Australia and sit down as a family and go over the pros and cons of all the colleges," Ellis told The Denver Post. "I'm going to make the decision at home."
Two of the three schools Ellis is considering already have connections to Australia.
Colorado has signed one of his teammates from AIS, 6-11 center Shane Harris-Tunks, and currently has an Australian, freshman guard Nate Tomlinson, on its roster.
In addition to signing Salecich for next season, Saint Louis has an assistant coach from Australia in Chris Harriman and Majerus has experience recruiting in the country previously.
Majerus recruited Andrew Bogut to Utah, who later became the No. 1 overall draft pick by the Milwaukee Bucks in 2005.
