Reed scored 12 points and added eight rebounds, which tied his season high, as the Billikens came from behind to defeat North Carolina A&T 60-52 on Jan. 2. He made a crucial play with 7 minutes, 16 seconds remaining in that when he converted a three-point play to tie the score at 50-50.
The Kansas City native has established himself as one of three freshmen starters for Saint Louis U. Point guard Kwamain Mitchell and forward Brian Conklin have started all of the Billikens' 14 games. After coming off the bench early in the season, Reed has now started seven games.
Reed is averaging 7.5 points and 3.9 rebounds in 20.2 minutes per game and leads the team in field goal percentage (58.1) and blocked shots (13).
