Corona (Calif.) Eleanor Roosevelt sophomore Justin Simon took the time out of his busy high school basketball season to stop by San Diego State to watch the Aztecs defeat USD 72-56 on Saturday night.
"The game was pretty good," Simon said. "It was very exciting to see what they were doing out there. The team looked really good and the crowd was getting into it. It was a great atmosphere at San Diego State."
The talented shooting guard has been to Viejas Arena before with Latrelle Franklin, LaBradford's little brother.
He's also been a fan of the program since Shannon Clay, his cousin, was a member of the women's basketball team. Simon is also a fan of Arizona, Arizona State and Kentucky.
After the game he was able to check out some different areas of the arena along with 2016 San Diego (Calif.) Torrey Pines shooting guard Brandon Cyrus.
"The coaches showed us the locker room," Simon explained. "We got to meet the players and coaches talked about their coaching style. We got to meet the entire coaching staff that was cool."
"They were great company. The players were real cool and the coaches seemed really cool so I had a good time."
Simon has been offered by UC Irvine and is receiving interest from other programs such as Arizona State, Utah, Gonzaga and Cal Poly.
List of schools expressing interest will only continue to grow as his sophomore season progresses.
The 6-foot-4 and 175-pound high level prospect makes his presence felt in every facet of the game with his high motor and long, athletic frame. Simon attacks the rim at will with the ability to finish; not to mention he's extremely unselfish with good passing skills.
"I'm trying to improve my shooting, scoring more off the dribble, running in transition and playing better help and on-ball defense," Simon explained.
