Nike EYBL Los Angeles Day #1 Recap

Mac Irvin Fire vs Oakland Soldiers
2015 SDSU target Marcus LoVett Jr. (Mac Irvin Fire, PG) illustrated his ball handling skills throughout the game against the Soldiers. A lot of in and out dribbles, while keeping his dribble tight and low really made him standout. He pushed the ball a lot, running, never walking the ball up, something college coaches enjoying seeing a young point guard do. LoVett Jr. looked very comfortable running the show against the 2012 EYBL Champions, and finished with 6 points and 4 assists.

Recently offered 2014 G Chris Sandifer (Oakland Soldiers/Gardena Serra), struggled to find his shot in his first game of the EYBL. Although that did not seem to disrupt his flow, as he continued to confidently shoot, as well as keep up his defensive intensity. Sandifer started for the Soldiers, which says a lot about his skills, since the team is famously known for being annually loaded with high division-1 talent.

Cal Supreme vs Team United
Another recent recipient of an Aztec offer is 2014 F Zylan Cheatham (Cal Supreme/Westwind Prep). Cheatham really showed off his athleticism and jumping ability in his first game. He finished with 6 points and 7 rebounds in a 85-53 blowout win for California Supreme. Cheatham only had to play 16 minutes and was able to rest for the next day, but when he was in, he put on a show. Contesting every shot and rebound, Cheatham was a force in the paint. His rebounding and energy were the highlights of the game.
