Carlsbad linebacker lands new offer

2014 LB/WR Jordan Perez (Carlsbad HS), picked up a new Pac-12 offer on the 7th.

Jordan Perez, 2014 LB Carlsbad HS, was recently offered by Colorado on Tuesday, May 7th. That is his 4th offer overall, already being offered by Miami, San Diego State, and Boise State. Perez lists interests from Arizona, Arizona State, Washington, Washington State, USC, Notre Dame, UCLA, and San Jose State as well.

Certainly the junior linebacker/receiver has gained a plethora of interests and offers, but when asked if he has any sort of order or list he said "No, not really. I'm keeping my recruitment open and want to see all the schools before I start making a list… I want to use all the official visits, especially to see the schools that are far away." Perez plans on making visits to Boise State, Washington, and Washington State sometime in June, and take a couple day trips to both UCLA and USC sometime soon as well.

Perez plays both linebacker and receiver for the Lancers, but in college he plans to stick on defense. "In college I'll probably play either outside or inside linebacker, depending on what the team needs", said Perez.

A big factor that will determine where Perez decides to commit is the type of defense that the school runs. Perez commented, "I like to blitz, it's something I'm good at and like to do in high school, and want to do more in college."

Concerning his recent offer from SDSU, Perez said "I like having it close to home, and I've been to the campus a couple times".

The 6'2 linebacker plans to spend a lot of this offseason improving his speed for the next season, and especially the next level. Perez showed major improvement from his sophomore to junior season, and thanks his parents and the coaching staff at Carlsbad High School for helping him get to where he is now.
