2015 PG Kendall Small (Ocean View HS, Huntington Beach, Ca) has quickly become one of the most impressive Southern Californian guards of the 2015 class. Small broke out after a spectacular sophomore season at Ocean View HS where he averaged 20.8 ppg, including nine games of more than 25 points. The University of Portland was the first school to offer Small, and since then he has picked up other offers from Gonzaga, San Diego State, UNLV, Columbia, Boston College, New Mexico, Washington, Connecticut, and Arizona. As well as interest from Washington State, UCLA, USC and Oregon.

Small has been playing for Superior Athletes Black this summer, playing against older kids in the 17-under division, This past weekend, they played in the EBO Showdown in San Diego, Ca. After the tournament, Small was able to take an unofficial visit to the San Diego State campus. "He likes the town, I was able to show him around and show him the things that are new since I was here" said Small's dad, who is an SDSU alum.

Other visits planned for Small include both Portland and Gonzaga, "We'll probably go to Gonzaga sometime in January, it might be an official we're not sure yet… We'll also visit Portland in February, they were the first school to offer Kendall", said Small's father.

On the topic of what factors will decide where his son goes, Small's father said "There is no preference were he goes with location, but it's going to take a great coach, with a great relationship with Kendall." Certainly the Division 1 coaches from all around the nation will be recruiting Small. Concerning what type of coaching style Small prefers, his father said "For the type of offense, an up-tempo offense would be nice. Something that allows the guards to create."

This offseason Small has been working the hardest on his jumper, "He's really been working on his midrange jumper, improving his touch on his shot… He's also in a weight program to get stronger" Small's father said.

This upcoming weekend Small and the Superior Athletes Black will be playing in the Compton Magic Memorial Day Tournament at the Players Edge Facility in Corona, Ca. Their games on Saturday will be at 12:20 and 4:40pm.
