San Diego State picked up their 11th commitment of the 2014 class when Patrick Henry High School Wide Receiver Jabril Clewis gave his verbal pledge to the Aztecs. Clewis had picked up offers from Nevada and UNLV, along with interest from several Pac-12 schools.

"I just thought it was a great opportunity and one that shouldn't be passed up, it's close to home and it's one of the schools I've been interested in."

Clewis developed a good relationship with the coaching staff during his recruitment, and was offered by the Aztecs during the on-campus passing camp two weekends ago. "The coaches are really nice, understanding people. They know what they're saying. They seemed into me being able to play for them, and they were willing to let me show what I can do in front of them. It was honor for them to think highly of me."

There were a few things specifically about San Diego State that made the decision easier for Clewis, "Probably the opportunity for playing time and campus life, also how close the school is to home."

Patrick Henry High School is located just over three miles from San Diego State, so Clewis' transition to college should be easier than most. "My dad used to go there, it's good there. My parents were looking forward to that and really wanting me to go there."

"I would say I'm a good all around receiver, I do what I'm asked, I do everything to the fullest extent," Clewis said. "I think everything could be improved on. I want to become a better player with more work. I just want to be the best player I can and do what I believe I can."

Clewis is solid with his commitment to the Aztecs, but that won't stop the interest from other schools. "I'm still open to other schools. I don't want to rule out everything, but I would really like to go to San Diego State."
