San Diego State has made a point to reach out to several wing players in the 2015 class. One of them is Las Vegas Desert Pines forward Nate Grimes.

What has San Diego State told Grimes?

"They told me that they would love to have me, and that I would be a great asset. I could come in and be a superstar," Grimes said. "I really like how the coaches treat me, I feel like I could get along with all the players that I would playing with."

The Aztecs are among many schools chasing Grimes, including UCLA, UMass, Arizona, and Utah, but Grimes admits everything is still wide open.

With time right now between the Spring and Summer AAU periods, Grimes has gotten to work improving his game. "Working on my legs, getting my upper body strength and core right and then getting jump shots up everyday in the gym."

"My jump shot is the strongest part of my game, I can shoot the ball well and score off the dribble," added Grimes. "I need to get better at low post play, my ball handling and getting to the hole. Once you get that done you'll be unstoppable."

When the July Evaluation Period gets going Grimes will be running with the Las Vegas Knicks. "I want to show coaches that I can shoot the ball, go to the hole and I'm great at defense. I can play both ends of the floor and I'm a leader."

Grimes hasn't scheduled any visits for this summer, but he has taken visits to Arizona State and Southern Utah in the past.

When Grimes does make his decision, he knows what he's looking for, "Playing time is important. I want to come in and get playing time as a freshman."

But don't expect a decision for a while, "I'm gonna wait a while."
