Among San Diego State's search to land a point guard in the 2014, Compton High School rising senior Kyron Cartwright has emerged.

"The offers I have are San Diego, Long Beach St, Cal State Fullerton, Northridge and LMU. I've heard from San Diego State and San Francisco and I got a call from Oregon State," Cartwright said.

San Diego State is yet to have added a commitment for the 2014 class, but they've thoroughly cemented themselves among the top choices for several prospects.

"They told me they were looking for a guard and a wing in our class," Cartwright said. "I'm planning on going on a visit there in August. They've been talking about style of play and they want me to get to their campus."

Cartwright got lots of exposure this past week while playing on Pump N' Run Elite with fellow 2014 prospects Evan Fitzner and Jack Williams. He'll get another chance to impress this week as well playing in the Double Pump Best of Summer tournament in Anaheim.

"I want to show coaches that I have better decision making, and am committing less turnovers."

"I need to work on my range, yeah just my range," Cartwright said about making improvements for his senior year and improving for the next level.

Cartwright hasn't set a date for an announcement, but he's sure of what he's looking for in a school. "I'm looking for a team that gets up and down the court, just a fast paced offense, and a good fit for me."

"I can rebound the ball, which is good for me because I can just go up the court and find people quickly."
