2014 G Kyron Cartwright recruiting update

2014 G Kyron Cartwright (Compton HS) has been accumulating offers and interests from many West coast schools. Playing with other top prospects on his high school and AAU team has earned Cartwright more and more West coast exposure.

2014 G Kyron Cartwright (Compton HS) has been playing this summer with Pump N Run Elite, a team with fellow top West coast prospects Evan Fitzner and Jack Williams. Last month Cartwright was named the MVP of the Watts Summer Games, he has earned himself offers from Loyola Marymount, Cal State Northridge, Cal State Fullerton, and Univ of San Diego, with interest coming in from both Wyoming and UTEP.

With interest and offers accumulating, Cartwright has a few things that he is looking for in a school, " I want to go where I feel like I can contribute the most. Somewhere where I can input the most." Concerning the coaching style of a potential school, Cartwright said "I would like to go play in an up-tempo style, with also a good connection with the coaching staff. I want to feel like I can learn a lot from the coach, and grow a lot there."

The Compton guard also plans on using his versatility at the next level, "In college I'd like to play the 1 (point guard position), but it doesn't really matter. I can play both on ball and off ball." Location really won't play a big factor in the point guard's decision, "I'd like to leave California, but it won't really play a big part. I'd be fine with staying."

This offseason Cartwright has been really working hard, "I've been working hard on extending my range, and increasing my quickness. My coach wants me to score the more, so that's what I'm working on."

Cartwright plans on making his decision before his high school season starts, "I'd like to make my decision before the high school season starts, and take my visits before then as well." With the July evaluation period over, Cartwright will next participate in the Loyola Marymount University Elite Camp on August 4th.
