Spartans Win Series Over Cal State Univ at Fresno.

Cal State Fresno came into this series hitting .275, while San Jose State came into the series batting 277. Cal State Fresno loses another series to SJSU, and has not won in San Jose since 2001.

Sophomore Matt Durkin won his first game in three starts, leading the San Jose State baseball team to a 3-0 victory over Cal State Fresno on Sunday at Municipal Stadium.

The Spartans won the three-game Western Athletic Conference series 2-1.

Durkin (5-4), winless since his 15-strikeout performance against Santa Clara on March 7, gave up three hits in 7 2/3 innings, striking out eight.

The Spartans (17-17, 4-8 WAC) scored all three runs in the third inning off Cal State Fresno starter Josh Glynn (2-5), who was one of five pitchers for the Bulldogs (19-15, 6-3).
