For those of you who were around the first time, you'll remember Inside Sparta as your No. 1 independent source of San Jose State sports information. As the Spartans' football team heads into its fourth contest of the season, facing New Mexico State on Saturday at Spartan Stadium, the Inside Sparta crew returns bringing news, photos, and recruiting information, as well as all-Sparta, all the time on the Inside Sparta message boards.
What will be different with the new Inside Sparta? Well, nothing, really. We will provide the same quality information as before along with Premium content available only to Inside Sparta Total Access subscribers.

Don Hoekwater - Publisher - Don brings over 14 years experience covering college sports. He began his career in 1997 covering the Michigan Wolverines. While attending San Jose State he was Sports Information Director for the SJSU Hockey team. His duties included writing game stories, interviewing players and coaches, photographing games, and promoting the team on the web and on campus.
After graduating in 2006 with a degree in Journalism, Don founded Inside Sparta in 2009 and formed a group who covered SJSU football, men's basketball, and baseball.
Don, along with maintaining the overall site, will provide photography and recruiting coverage.
Scott Phelps - Senior Editor - Scott brings his years as the Administrator of the Navy site - Midship.com - to Inside Sparta.
Scott started off as a police officer for San Jose while earning his degree in Psychology in 1968. During this time he also served in the Army Reserves. After 3-1/2 years with the SJPD, he became a Special Agent for the United States Secret Service, then lectured at San Jose State for a few years.
Afterwards he spent 34 years as a member of the Cabrillo College faculty before retiring from full-time teaching. He still teaches part-time.
Scott will be covering football and providing interviews with coaches and players.
Mike Morgan - Associate Editor - Mike is a graduate of San Jose State University, (BS Graphic Design - 1984) and a life long resident of the Santa Clara Valley. He previously covered San Jose State Football for Inside Sparta in 2009 and 2010. Mike currently resides in San Jose with his wife and two teenage children.
Mike will mainly providing analysis and perspective in articles and on the boards.
