It was first reported in Sept. on the Spartan Hoops website that center/forward Chris Cunningham had transferred to San Jose State from cross-town rival Santa Clara University. On Thursday, that was confirmed.
"Chris Cunningham transferred to San Jose State and is practicing with the team," the SJSU Athletic Department told Inside Sparta.
The 6-foot-8, 225-pound Cunningham signed with Santa Clara in November of 2008 out of Diamond Ranch High School in Pomona, Calif.
"He will be eligible for game participation in 2012-13," according to the SJSU AD.
As a Bronco in 2009-2010, he played 310 minutes in 30 games, shot 55-percent from the floor, 53-percent from the foul line, averaging 2.0 points and 2.2 rebounds a game with 10 shotblocks.
In 2010-2011, he played 189 minutes in 15 games, shot 62% from the floor, 70-percent from the foul line, averaging 4.4 points and 2.8 rebounds a game with 2 shotblocks.
