Darnell Dailey Talks About SJSU Game Visit

It looks like San Jose State will host most, if not all, of its official visits after the season ends. However, recruits are free to visit the campus unofficially at any time, and there were several in attendance at Spartan Stadium on Saturday. Inside Sparta spoke with one of them.

It is easy to forget that high school student-athletes are similar in many ways to other students when researching where they'll spend the next four to five years of their lives for school. There are many aspects to consider, and the total experience and feel is what makes someone decide on a university. Such is the case for linebacker Darnell Dailey of Rodriguez High School in Fairfield, Calif. Dailey visits San Jose State for the first time on Saturday.

"It was an unofficial visit, they haven't offered me yet but we are talking a lot," Dailey said. "I really enjoyed it and liked the campus, it was pretty cool. I like the coaches and the stadium was nice."

In the stadium, SJSU surrendered 22 points in the fourth quarter to end up on the losing end of a 32-29 score.

"The fan support seemed really good," he said. "It's a bummer they lost but I could see myself going there."

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Dailey is also hearing from Nevada but said he hasn't yet received an offer from the Wolfpack.

One school in contact is also at the top of his list of favorites.

"I like San Diego State," he said. "I like that area and it's still close enough for my mom to come see me play."

While Dailey reports that he doesn't have any offers, that may change as the season ends.

"I'm getting a lot of contact and they're telling me to keep playing hard," he said. "I'm sending out tape and keeping in contact with the coaches."
