A New OL Target Emerges

It's exactly one week until National Letter of Intent Signing Day. San Jose State is now at 17 verbal commitments. They'll most likely add a few more before next Wednesday, and one may be this Central Valley big man.

San Jose State head coach Mike MacIntyre is quickly becoming known for finding talent others have overlooked. In yet another example, it appears the Spartans staff is looking to the Central Valley community of Los Banos to add another offensive lineman.

Bryce Howard of Los Banos High School was recently in San Jose, according to his head coach.

"Yes, Bryce did take an official visit to San Jose State last weekend," Dennis Stubbs told Inside Sparta on Wednesday. "On offer is probably coming very soon."

The 6-foot-5, 265-pound Howard was showing early interest in Fresno State, but that faded with the departure of Pat Hill.

Howard was named the Most Valuable Player for the WAC - the high school version - according to the Modesto Bee. The Tigers posted a 10-2 record for the season, and went 6-0 in league play.

Howard will be taking once more visit this weekend.

"He's going up to Sacramento State for a visit," Stubbs said.
