One-On-One with San Jose State commit Tre Webb

Three-star cornerback Tre Webb of Anaheim (Calif.) Servite discusses his commitment to SJSU.

InsideTheSpartans, Question: What about San Jose State made it your choice?

Tre Webb, Answer: I really like the coaching staff and when I took my official visit I felt like it was a great fit overall. I liked the area, I liked the school, I liked everybody that helped me throughout the process. It just felt comfortable to me, that’s the main thing.

Q: Have you had a chance to talk with the new defensive coaches since you committed?

A: Yeah, I talked to my new DB coach, Will Harris.

Q: What was your impression of him?

A: He sounded real cool. I liked his attitude and his energy over the phone. I liked that a lot.

Q: Do you know any of the other commits in the Southern California area?

A: We’re from Riverside, I know Cam Smith and Marquise Green, those are both Inland Empire boys so we have a good connection.

Q: Did you all visit together?

A: Me and Cam did and Marquise did a few weeks after.

Q: What can SJSU fans expect to see of your skillset

A: A long, physical, hungry corner with great technique and always around the ball and always trying to make the big plays and do his job.

Q: What have you been working on since your senior season?

A: I’m just trying to gain weight and keep my technique right. The main thing is that I’m gaining weight and lifting a lot.

Q: What major are you considering at SJSU?

A: Business

Q: What do you want to accomplish at San Jose State?

A: I want to get my degree first. Try to get that in about three and a half years. I want to immediately try to go in and impress the coaches and hopefully try to challenge for a spot there. In the long term, I hope to be a starter and possibly go to the NFL.
