San Jose State University football fans are invited to the inaugural "Pigskin Pigout," a free tailgate party filled with food and fun for all ages, prior to this year's Spring Game on April 16.
The "Pigskin Pigout" is open to the public and begins at 11:30 a.m. on the grass field located on the 10th Street side of Spartan Stadium as an appetizer to the 1:30 p.m. game. Free parking is available.
Reservations for the "Pigskin Pigout" are not required.
"The ‘Pigskin Pigout' gives us the opportunity to show San Jose that we are committed to the football fans," says Tom Bowen, San Jose State University's director of athletics, who along with first-year head coach Dick Tomey will be the featured speakers at the event. "There will be a new atmosphere at Spartan games this fall and we want it to begin with the Spring Game."
The first 500 in attendance at the "Pigskin Pigout" will receive a free BBQ chicken lunch courtesy of the Sonoma Chicken Coop restaurant. All Spartan fans can have their photo taken with and get autographs from their favorite players and coaches and participate in interactive games and face painting.
The Spartan Pep Band will provide musical entertainment.
Fans also can order their 2005 San Jose State University season tickets at "The Pigskin Pigout." Prices for five home games beginning September 3 against Eastern Washington University start at $40 per season ticket and are now available.
