2002 Basketball Tournament Information

What: 2002 Williams WAC Basketball Tournament

When: March 5-9

Where: Reynolds Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma

Format: All 10 men's and all 10 women's teams will play in the tournament. On Tuesday, March 5th, women's seeds 7 vs. 10 and 8 vs. 9 will play in the afternoon, while men's seeds 7 vs. 10 and 8 vs. 9 will play in the evening. Wednesday, March 6th will see all four women's quarterfinal games and Thursday, March 7th will be the date for all four men's quarterfinal games.

The women's semifinal games will be played the afternoon of Friday, March 8th and the men's semifinal games will be later that evening. The women's championship game will be Saturday, March 9th at 1:00 pm, while the men's championship game will be played at 8:00 pm.

Ticket Information: Tickets to the tournament may be purchased by calling your favorite WAC school's athletic ticket office. Pre-sale of tourney tickets ends January 15th. After that date, tickets may be purchased by calling the SJSU ticket office at 408-924-SJTX. Tickets are priced as all-session passes only and are $125, an average of just $6.94 per game. Premium tickets that include a parking pass and center court seating are also available for $350, or $19.44 per game. Single session tickets will go on sale Monday, March 4th, if the tournament is not sold out.

Television: The women's championship game will be telecast live by Fox Sports Net Southwest. The men's championship game will be telecast live by ESPN2. Earlier round games will be available to the schools' local television stations.

Team Hotels: Each school has been assigned a hotel for their time in Tulsa (both the men's and women's teams from each school will stay in the same hotel) and a fan block has been reserved at each of these hotels. The Holiday Inn Select will house Boise State and UTEP; the Marriott Southern Hills will be home for Fresno State and Rice; Hawaii will stay at the DoubleTree Warren Place; the Sheraton Hotel will host SMU and San Jose State, and; the Hilton Southern Hills will accommodate Nevada and Louisiana Tech.
