San José State Athletics is transforming the East Field between Spartan Stadium and 10th Street into the epicenter of Spartan tailgating for the 2005 football season. The new area, known as "The Fan Fiesta," is the place to be for the five home football events this fall.

Four hours prior to kickoff, "The Fan Fiesta" offers Spartan fans the chance to enjoy pre-game activities with family and friends in an area perfect celebrating the festivities of a college game-day. "The Fan Fiesta" encompasses a variety of options: a "first-come, first-served" tailgate area, a Game-Day Grill, a kids' interactive zone and a reserved tailgate area. The one commonality – it's for everyone!

"The Fan Fiesta" components:

1. The "first-come, first-served" tailgate: Is a tailgate area available to all Spartan fans. For $10 per game fans have the best tailgating area in the South Bay. Fans also have the option of purchasing a Fan Fiesta season pass for $40. Purchasing a Fan Fiesta pass does not guarantee you space so arrive early to secure the perfect location. Fan Fiesta season passes will also be honored at Bud Winter Field located at 10th and Alma. Please contact the Spartan Ticket Office at 924-SJTX to purchase your pass.

2. Game-Day Grill Fans interested in tailgating (but not all the work) can enjoy a restaurant-style meal at the Game-Day Grill. Once inside the luxurious tent, fans can enjoy a variety of delicious food, cold beverages, and an inviting setting for only $10 per person. The Game-Day Grill is open to all patrons.

3. Kids' Zone Kids can run and jump to their heart's delight in the children's interactive zone. Jumpies, games, and face painting provide kids of all ages the opportunity to enjoy pre-game activities in a safe and controlled area.

4. Reserved Tailgating For only $100 for the season, Spartan Foundation members with a donation level of $1,000 or greater have the opportunity to purchase reserved tailgate spots in advance of the football season. Each spot is approximately 20 feet by 20 feet and accommodates two vehicles.

"Tailgating is part of the game-day experience," says Tom Bowen, Director of Athletics. "This new area provides our fans the best tailgating opportunity in the South Bay. We are asking Spartan fans to invest their time on a Saturday; our goal is to make it a memorable experience."

Corporate and Group Tailgating

In conjunction with the launching of "The Fan Fiesta," Spartan Athletics is introducing a new area to accommodate corporate outings and groups of 20 or more. The new corporate area is located on the Spartan football practice field so no vehicles are permitted on the surface. This is the perfect tailgate location to entertain clients and friends.

$100 secures the location and five parking passes in an adjacent lot. Spartan Shops, Inc. is the exclusive catering service for this location. Game tickets may be purchased as part of the package.
