Quarterback Club Update! Join the Team!

Coach's Corner!
"I was real proud of our defense. We have a long way to go. But I saw some encouraging things out there."
Dr Fitz Hill- Spartan Head Football Coach

Spartan Fans,

Here is the latest SJSU Quarterback club update! Get invloved and attend the next meeting, or the one after that if you cannot make the upcoming one.

SJSU vs. Arkansas State Update:

Victory! Spartans win on the road and spoil Arkansas State's return to Little Rock.

The Spartans made a few mistakes but, all in all, it was a pretty impressive performance. Opening game jitters (including three fumbles) made for a fun and exciting football game with a brand new defense scoring two touchdowns.

New defensive heroes to watch: Luke La Herran, Carlos Koustas and Chip Kimmich.

"Our defense caused turnovers and scored twice. Any time you do that, you know you have a chance to win it. They took care of our offense today" , said Coach Hill.

Yeah! We know! Tough schedule.! Lots of hurdles! Just be there!

Leigh Weimers is the Featured Speaker, and Coach Ron Lee addresses the QBC next!

Stanford Next!

Leigh Weimers, great Spartan, dean of Bay area newspapers columnists (SJSU '58, not Stanford, not Cal, not Columbia) will be the featured speaker for the QBC meeting before Stanford.

Leigh is old San Jose (San Jose State College and a native of Napa like Dick Vermeil).

Don't miss this meeting! If Lee can't regale us with tales of old SJSU and Stanford, no one can!

Defensive Coordinator Ronnie Lee will speak to the QBC about our brand new defense. "Our philosophy is all 11 guys around the football", says Lee.

If you were at Arkansas State, you saw the action. Coach Lee will tell us how we are going to defense the Cardinal.

Lee has coached at University of Miami (Fla), Idaho and Colorado State. Coach Lee played football at Washington State.

SJSU vs Stanford update:

Now it's time for one of the oldest rivalries on the west coast! Yeah!

We've heard it all over the years. Working class school vs. the elite! Haves vs. the have nots, etc, etc. This is what makes the Stanford game special.

This game has featured big Spartan wins under Coaches Elway, Gilbert and Shea. Over the last 20 years, we've held our own against the Cardinal.

Before the great tailgating and great football at Stanford Stadium, be at the Three Flames on Thursday night and get the inside scoop on how the Spartans will top the Cardinal.

No matter what, this is the QBC meeting you won't want to miss.
