The Mustangs (0-5) are looking for their first win in conference, and the Spartans (3-2) look to take their record to 4 and 2 for the first time in god knows how long!
SMU's FB Kris Briggs and RB Keylon Kincaid lead the SMU offense, as these two have combined for 650 yards this season.
SMUs offensive line has struggled because teams don't respect QuarterBack Wallis' passing ability. The OL has faced 8-9 man fronts making it difficult to find running room in recent games as well.
The SMU defense is horrible at defending against the pass, having given up 10 TDs through the air. The D-line has recorded just 4 sacks and the secondary has only 6 INTs. The offense for SMU is "abysmal".
A weak SMU pass rush allows opposing QBs to have a field day, so look for emerging Spartan QB, Scott Rislov, to have some fun saturday.
We expect the Spartan wide receivers to "light it up" as long as Rislov is on target.
SMU's 0-5 record, and poor outings against Navy, OSU and Hawaii will just add that much more pressure on the 'Stangs to win this WAC conference game.
When SJS has the ball:
Spartan QB Scott Rislov will smoke the 'Stangs for 250+ yards and hit his recievers.
The SJSU running game will surprise SMU, as Fitz Hill will give Lamar Furgeson his share of the carries versus a weak SMU defense. Pad those numbas Fergie!
When SMU has the ball:
Look for SMU to run, run, run da ball. It ain't gonna be enough for the ponies however.
Were getting over zealous, and predicting SJSU BY 38!
SJSU 47 and SMU 9 in a blow out!
