SJ State Takes on Santa Clara in Rivalry Game

The SJSU Spartans play their first home game of the season, as they take on the Santa Clara Broncos this Saturday, December 8th! The Rivalry tips off at 7 p.m. at the Events Center, so grab some sports minded friends, and get on down to the campus to cheer on the blue and old gold! Fans can catch all the action on the radio at 1220 AM KNTS, or online at SJSUspartans.com via the GOLD ZONE!

Calling all Spartan Hoops fans! Calling all Spartan Hoops fans! Be on the look-out for Broncos roaming the streets and fans clad in Red!

That's right Spartan fans! It is time for your San Jose State Spartans to play their first home game of the season, and against a foe who makes home down a few pesky miles on the Alameda.

So, what are you doing Saturday night, besides contemplating ordering in a Pizza, or going to the mall to fight the masses of Christmas shoppers fighting over Hillary Duff pajamas?

That does not sound to fun, now does it?

The bigger question is, what are you doing as a supporter of the blue and gold, and how can you help make the future brighter for SJSU basketball?

The answer is easy as 1-2-3!

One- Call 408-924-SJTX and order your seats for the Spartan Hoops game Saturday night at 7PM versus the pesky and hated Santa Clara Broncos.

Two- Get to the game early, grab a Spartan dog, a coke (or a Gordon Biersch Marzen), and some popcorn for the kids and settle down into your seats for an exciting (and cost affective) Saturday night!

Three- Stand up and root and cheer for the "home town" team, and high five Sammy the Spartan mascot when Justin Graham hits a big three pointer, or Lance Holloway slams down a toma-hawk dunk!

Now, does'nt that sound much more enticing than ordering Pizza, or searching through the isles for Hillary Duff pajamas?

You bet your ass it does!

A pre-game note of motivation:

Santa Clara has won four straight games in the series, including a 47-46 win in 2006 at the Events Center. The pesky Broncos hit a buzzer-beater in 2006 to win that game! SCU has also won nine of the past 10 games in the series, and it is time to reverse those fortunes!

If this plea for your attendance does not work, then you are not much of a Spartan fan anyway.

See all you real Spartan fans there!
