The Spartans trailed, 23-7, midway through the second quarter but rallied behind Rislov. San Jose State went ahead for good, 29-23, on Rislov's 68-yard TD strike to Tuati Wooden with 8:40 to play.
On the ensuing possession, safety C.J. Arnold intercepted Bulldog quarterback Luke McCown and scampered 38 yards for a touchdown. McCown got Louisiana Tech within 35-30 on a 41-yard TD pass to Chris Norwood with 5:22 to go but Lamar Ferguson countered with an eight-yard run with 1:53 left to conclude the scoring.
Rislov was 25-of-34 with one interception for San Jose State (5-6, 3-3 WAC), which allowed 482 yards but gained 562.
Jamall Broussard had 171 receiving yards and two touchdowns and Wooden 127 and one score for the Spartans, who snapped a four-game losing streak.
McCown was 29-of-48 for 341 yards, three TDs and two interceptions for Louisiana Tech (3-6, 2-3), which lost for the fifth time in six games.
Joe Smith rushed for 114 yards and one touchdown in the loss. Chris Norwood had 85 receiving yards and two TDs, including a four-yard catch from McCown with 7:59 to play in the second quarter that gave the Bulldogs their biggest lead.
San Jose State, which leads the teams' all-time series, 3-1, avenged a 41-20 road defeat to Louisiana Tech last season.
