Offensive Coordinator, Morton, staying at SJS

Sources tell us that offensive coordinator and line coach, Steve Morton, is now staying at SJSU. It appeared that a complete overhual of the SJSU offense was under way, and a cultural metamorphosis was on slate for the 2009 season. It also appears that Morton is happy with Arroyo's replacement, as this person is to be announced very soon.

Sources tell us that offensive coordinator and line coach, Steve Morton, is now not leaving SJSU and is not going to entertain CAL. It appears that a complete overhual of the SJSU offense was under way, and a cultural metamorphosis was on slate for 2009 with the departure of Arroyo to Wyoming and Morton potentially heading to Bezerkely.

Something made him change his mind, or the pieces have now fallen into place with the replacement of Arroyo whom left for Wyoming.

Steve Morton completed his fourth season at San Jose State and his 34th season coaching at the NCAA collegiate level, and the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at SJS. He completed his third season as the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at SJSU this year.

The offense struggled under both Arroyo and Morton, so a potential move to CAL for Morton would not have come as a total shock.

The bigger question is whom will replace Arroyo for the 2009 season as offensive coordinator calling the plays on the field, and will there be enough time to instill a new offensive scheme before the first ball is snapped in 2009?

We shall soon find out whom has replaced Arroyo, and it could come as early as this week.
