Florida Cornerback has San Jose State on Top

Florida is one of the top states in the country for football talent, and Miami is a talent-rich area. Cornerback Frantz Charles of G. Holmes Braddock High School in Miami is hearing from SJSU, and has the Spartans as his favorite.

It is still very early in the recruiting process and the difficulties facing San Jose State in recruiting out-of-state players has been well-documented on Inside Sparta. With that in mind the SJSU football staff must truly be interested in cornerback Frantz Charles of G. Holmes Braddock High School in Miami, Fla.

"I've received letters and information about San Jose State," Charles said. "I really like what they've done there and have them as my No. 1 school."

Frantz added that he's never been to San Jose, but has no problem coming across the continent to attend school, should SJSU make a scholarship offer.

The 5-foot-9, 165-pound Charles reports a 4.6 time in the 40-yard-dash. In his junior season he had 40 tackles and three interceptions.

He said that other schools that have sent him letters of interest include Washington State, Mississippi State, and South Carolina.

"The South Carolina coach came by my school to watch me practice," Charles said.
