SJSU Offer is First for DE Jordan Thomas

On Wednesday Inside Sparta reported that San Jose State had extended a scholarship offer to defensive end Jordan Thomas of Redlands (Calif) High School. Thomas spoke on Thursday about the offer, and whether or not SJSU will be his college destination.

The San Jose State coaching staff is hard at work recruiting in Southern California. On Wednesday SJSU offered defensive end Jordan Thomas of Redlands (Calif) High School.

"I called defensive line coach Kenji Green and he offered me," Thomas told Inside Sparta on Thursday. "I really like San Jose State and plan to visit the school sometime during the summer."

The Spartans are the first to offer the 6-foot-2, 220-pound Thomas. He reports that Fresno State, Arizona, California, UTEP, UCLA, and Utah State were some of the schools that paid Redlands a visit during the recent spring evaluation period.

"I'd say that FSU, UTEP, Arizona, and Idaho are the other schools showing the most interest right now," he said. "San Jose State is my favorite among those, but if Stanford were to offer I'd probably pick them."

Thomas said that he ran a 4.9 in the 40, along with a 4.41 second shuttle at a recent combine. He also reports a 34-inch vertical leap.

The summer looks to be a busy one for Thomas. He said he plans on camping at Arizona, San Diego State, and UCLA.

"I'm not sure when the San Jose State camp is, but I plan on going up for that," he said.

Academically Thomas is fully qualified with a reported 3.6 grade-point-average. He said he plans on majoring in business or biology.
