Fall Camp Day Two Quick Hitters

The San Jose State football team was out on a warm Sunday afternoon for the second day of fall camp. Here are some quick hitter notes on the day that include a visitor and an update on the status of quarterback Chad Bozzo.

Sunday was a bit warmer, and the intensity on the field was a bit higher during the second session of the 2009 San Jose State fall football camp. Here are some quick hitter notes on the day:

  • Quarterback target Darius Bell of the City College of San Francisco was in attendance for the entire practice
  • Freshman placekicker Harrison Waid continues to impress with booming kicks from the 50 yard range, with room to spare
  • Sophomore linebacker Wade O'Neill was on crutches on Sunday. SJSU head coach Dick Tomey said there was no prognosis on when he would return
  • According to an SJSU official, quarterback Chad Bozzo will be listed as a junior for the time being. His situation is "very unique"
  • Freshman Ronnie Yell saw significant time at the cornerback spot and held his own
  • It's early, but there were a lot of dropped balls by the receivers
  • Sophomore cornerback Peyton Thompson has a spectacular diving interception during scrimmaging
  • Preferred walk-on junior offensive guard Jacob Orth was getting reps with the second team
  • The offensive scheme in 2009 will look significantly different then in previous year. We mentioned this during spring practice as well, and it is more apparent in the fall
  • Junior Dominique Hunsucker is getting reps with the running backs
