On Saturday Inside Sparta introduced Spartan fans to tight end Chris Bryant out of Glendale (Calif) Junior College and Pasadena High School. The 6-foot-4, 257-pound Bryant was awaiting academic clearance in order to join his future team. According to Bryant that clearance has come.
"I just got cleared today," he said. "I'll for sure be out there [on Wednesday]."
Bryant added that he would be wearing No. 87 for the Spartans.
While San Jose State has been recruiting the former Cal-Hi All-State selection since early summer, his addition to the team at this time couldn't have come at a better time. Senior tight end Terrance Williams went down with an ankle injury and may miss the 2009 season.
