Quarterback Quinton McCown of Hilmar (Calif) High School, a spring practice visitor to San Jose State, also made the trek from the Central Valley this past weekend to Spartan Stadium to see SJSU in action against Utah, Hilmar coach Craig Handy confirmed to Inside Sparta.
"Quinton was at the Utah game and got the full tour," Handy said.
McCown is very familiar to Spartan fans, and it is expected the SJSU staff will take at least one high school QB prospect in the 2010 recruiting class. However, no offer has yet been extended to McCown, according to Handy.
On Friday, the Yellowjackets blasted Denair 58-17. McCown saw limited action but still managed to be 6-of-9 for 91-yards in the air and one touchdown. He also had six carries for 61-yards and a rushing touchdown.
