It was recently speculated on the Inside Sparta Message Boards that two Southern California talents from Serra High School in Gardena, Calif., were close to committing to San Jose State. One of those players confirmed that the commitments did, in fact, take place.
"Sean Bacon and I did commit to San Jose State," Bene Benwikere told Inside Sparta. "We both plan in signing on Feb. 3."
Benwikere is a 5-foot-11, 177-pound cornerback who also had offers from San Diego State, Iowa State, New Mexico, and UNLV.
Bacon is 6-foot-3, 215-pound defensive end/tight end had an offer from Washington State, and visited Arizona State and Arizona.
"I am just excited about everything that San Jose State had to offer," Bacon said. "I'll be playing a hybrid defensive end spot."
Both players committed during their official visit to SJSU the weekend of Jan. 22.
