The long snapper position is one of those spots that often go unnoticed, that is until things go awry. That is now the case for San Jose State as Drew Ferris, who shortly after Signing Day committed to attend SJSU as a walk-on, has now decided to become a Gator.
"Florida called me last week and offered me a preferred walk-on (on Thursday)," Ferris said. "San Jose State is a great program but I had to take this opportunity."
The 6-foot-2, 209-pound Ferris was expected to compete for the starting long snapper position in the fall.
